Each season those who don the mark grow fewer, and not a thread of sackcloth amongst them. Have the hordes become aware of the perversion of penitence or merely consumed with malaise? Compulsory repentance, how honest - only one meal permitted. No meat. What punishment bestowed upon the chosen people, that they may partake in superficial poverty for a few measly hours upon this physical plane while the wretched heave and claw fruitlessly under the boot of the ultimate patriarch? In the realm of murderous gluttons to abstain from the taste of flesh for a day is noble; to abstain for a lifetime is pederasty.
